Question 1 of 5
Your estimated home loan eligibility
–
- EMI you can afford
- –
- Assumed rate and tenure
- –
- Lenders that fit you
- –
This is an estimate based on common bank income rules and example interest rates. It is not a loan offer; the lender decides your final eligibility.
How banks decide your loan amount
Most lenders allow your total EMIs (old and new) to be roughly 40–60% of your monthly income, depending on how much you earn. This is called FOIR. Your credit score, job stability, age and the property or vehicle also matter.
Ways to get a higher amount
- Close or reduce small loans and credit card dues before applying.
- Add an earning family member as co-applicant.
- Choose a longer tenure to lower the EMI.
- Keep your credit score above 750 by paying every EMI and card bill on time.
